Virtual Visits at 1Foot 2Foot Centre

At 1Foot 2Foot your health and safety are our priority. In order to keep your feet in their best shape we have devised a system to be able to treat you even when you are unable to come into the office. While we are taking extra precautionary measures to keep those who are eldery or have underlying medical conditions safe during this time when social distancing is so important, we invite you to utilize our Virtual Visit system. If your condition is not urgent and does not require in-person attention, this system can also come in handy for you.

What is a Virtual Visit?

Using video chat technology you can have a virtual doctor’s visit on your mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet so that the doctor can still treat you even when you’re not face-to-face.

Will my insurance be billed?

Yes, this is still a doctor’s visit so any copays, referrals, coinsurance and deductibles will still apply. Copayments will be collected over the phone and any other charges will be billed through the mail.

What do I need to do to set up a Virtual Visit?

  1. You must have access to a mobile device such as a smartphone, iPad or tablet.
  2. Request a virtual visit using the provided link and someone will call you to set up your appointment and email your appointment confirmation.
  3. At your scheduled appointment time, simply use the link we sent you to connect with your doctor (you will receive a reminder prior to your appointment).
  4. If you do not have access to a video device you may still be able to connect with your doctor over the phone. Please notify us when scheduling your appointment if you qualify for a phone appointment.

If you have an upcoming appointment scheduled, we recommend you keep it. To convert your in-office appointment to a Virtual Visit, contact our office so we can determine if your visit can be conducted virtually. This new system is to allow you to keep your appointment without leaving the safety and comfort of your home

When to schedule your virtual appointment:

  • If you are unable to get in and out of the building without assistance
  • If your foot condition is not urgent
  • If you are able to use the Virtual Visit system and have a mobile device with a camera
  • If you are immunocompromised
  • If you are pregnant
  • If you need lab results, test results or medication refills

When you should come for an in-office visit:

  • If you have an injury or foreign object in your foot
  • If you think you have an ingrown toenail or infection
  • If you wish to be casted for custom orthotics
  • If you know your visit requires an injection

Of course, there are other reasons why we may recommend coming into the office or scheduling a virtual appointment. If you have any questions regarding whether or not a virtual visit is the right choice for you please call us at 757-934-0768 to discuss it with a scheduling specialist or click here to request an appointment: Request Your Podiatry Care Appointment | Suffolk, VA & Hampton

If your visit type does require you to come into the office, rest assured that we are still taking the most care to protect you and our staff by cleaning and sanitizing the treatment rooms between every patient as well as regularly sanitizing the waiting area and all common areas. Our scheduling center staff is calling every patient every day to pre-screen in order to avoid patients coming in when they are sick, have traveled outside the U.S. or have knowingly come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19. We are also asking that patients come in alone or with a caregiver.

Whether in-person or virtually, we look forward to seeing you soon!
